Helping to create families is a noble calling, but there are some qualifications that must be met to ensure that the journey goes smoothly for everyone involved.
Requirements for Gestational Surrogates
- Must be between 21 and 45 years of age.
- Must have given birth to at least one child you are raising.
- Must be in overall good health.
- BMI must be under 30.
- Must have had no more than two c-sections.
- Must be free of all sexually transmitted diseases.
- Must be a nonsmoker and living in a smoke-free environment.
- Must be willing to undergo a psychological and physical evaluation.
- Must be willing to have a criminal background completed.
- Must be willing to attend counseling sessions throughout the surrogacy process if recommended.
- Must not be receiving government assistance (welfare).
- Must have full emotional support from husband/partner, if applicable.
- Spouse/partner must agree to undergo a psychological evaluation and some physical testing.
- No serious medical problems during pregnancy or delivery.
- No preterm deliveries before 36 weeks (unless in the event of multiples).
- Must be able to provide us with previous delivery records.
- Must be cleared by OB.
- Must have a stable residence and not planning to move out of state.

Qualifications for egg donors:
- Between the ages of 21-28.
- Generally in good health.
- Willing to provide detailed medical history regarding self and family.
- Able to self-administer daily medication injections.
- Nonsmoker/No drug use.
- Have a regular monthly menstrual cycle.
- Height and weight proportionate (BMI between 18 and 28).
- No tattoos/body piercings within the last year.
- Reliable and responsible.
- Have a flexible schedule to attend 6-10 medical appointments over a 3-month period usually in the morning hours.
- Willing to update Egg Donor Profile application semi-annually.
